My human sisters, on the other hand are a blast! They like playing tug with me, throwing my favorite rope bone for me, and tonight it was cool outside, so we had a nice game of chase in the backyard. I always have to be "it" though and chase them, 'cause mommy says I can't get in the habit of running away from my humans. Oh well, I'm already way faster than them, so they could never catch me anyway.
Right now I'm not having many adventures, because I haven't finished all my puppy shots, and we live in Texas where it is over 100F every day. Mommy says once it cools off some I can start walking to school to pick up our oldest girl. I'm very excited about that, because I LOVE human pups, and there will be lots of them at the school. I also need to learn a few more manners before Mommy can let me go to the school though. Like learning not to get too excited and jumping on the human pups. I never do this with grown humans; Mommy thinks I feed off the energy and excitement of the little humans, and this makes me forget my manners. I also have to get better on the leash. See, I'm very stubborn about this! Bwahaha! I trick Mommy into thinking I'm a good leash walker by walking nicely in an informal "heel" up the street, but on the way back down the street I pull like crazy. Mommy has tried taking me a different way, taking water in case I'm thirsty from the heat (even at our 9pm walks it's still 95F out), but I still won't behave. We can't take more than a couple steps and Mommy has to stop in her tracks so I won't pull. I think we may go to the park by the lake tomorrow and see how I do with in unfamiliar surroundings, with no "home" to run to. I'll let you know how that goes. If anyone has any suggestions for Mommy, she would like to hear them!
Anyway, thanks for reading my very 1st blog! Hope to hear some feedback soon!

ReplyDeleteHello, Jasmine! We saw your comments on Honey's blog and popped over to introduce ourselves. After a lifetime with Great Danes, mama rescued us over 6 years ago; Abby is a boxer-beagle mix and Jed is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. It's been a learning experience for her, but we're very glad she saved our lives. We do not have a blog, but we love to visit others' blogs and make new doggie friends. Mama's family is from Oklahoma [Go, Sooners!], so we're sort of neighbors even though we've never actually been to Oklahoma.
ReplyDeleteYour Sheltie brother will probably come around eventually, once your puppy exhuberance has abated a little.

Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteAm just trying to post a comment again...hope it works this time! :-)

BARK! Welcome to bloggy world Jasmine. You are a youngster and still have a lot to teach your humans. But that comes with time. I was already 5 when I came to live with my mommy and daddy. But they had a lot of learning to do, after 5 more years, they finally caught on. My favorite lesson was to show them I could eat the groceries left on the counter. And how I could open the big cold box door and get my own lunch when they were away. Just be careful jumping on the little humans, because you will soon be bigger than them. We dont have many human pups here, but when they visit I am very gentle and just sniff them. Hope to see more of you. BARK! Sasha the princess

ReplyDeleteWe are in TX too, and we have a black dane as well. She was born last year March 13th. She is going on 19 months now, weighs around 115 lbs., and is tall for her age and for being a girl...over 34 inches already! You look so beautiful and completely black; her and all her siblings had some white patches on them. Enjoy your blogging adventure!
ReplyDeleteHi Jasmine! Welcome to blog land! Cant wait to read more about you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the blogger world from a fellow great dane blogger!:0)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Jasmine! We know a few Danes like you. There's Honey and Tucker and Stella (Mommy said she'd get the links (whatever Mommy!) soonerest)
ReplyDeleteWe find that persistence is the way to grumpy old man hearts!
Bobo and Meja
Welcome to blog land! There are other great dane doggies just like you that you can be friends with. And, of course, my large and handsome self for sure. Don't worry about not being out and about too much because it is important to protect your puppy self from cooties.
ReplyDeleteBe careful with that jumping and bouncing too. Full sized doggies have tender bones that take a long time to get strong.
Slobbers,
Mango
Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting our blog!! We love making new friends!!
You are super cute!! We were also quite small puppies and haven't grown monstrous like some of the other Danes - but it's good because we can run for longer, which by the sounds of it is going to suit your human pup's just fine!
Look forward to following your blog!
Licks and lots of slobber,
Lexi and Jasper the Danes
Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteWow you are a real cutie, if only you lived a bit closer and we could play! Thanks for visiting my blog, its nice to have new friends, I am looking forward to watching you grow on your blog.
Funny enough, My Mummy thinks its funny when humans think we are Lab's, Mummy says "well, they will get a shock when they see us next and we are taller than a small pony!"
Lots of Luv,
Jaxson the Great Dane
